"Desert Star": A new complex with safari and extreme tourism facilities to be built in Khiva
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz.A new tourist complex called "Desert Star" will be built in Khiva on an area of more than 2,000 hectares. The land plot will be allocated from the Khiva district. The project will combine safari, extreme and eco-tourism attractions, hotels, museums, a summer camp, entertainment zones, as well as gastronomic and shopping streets, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the launch of the project during the opening ceremony of the "Arda Khiva" tourist center. Construction of the new complex will begin this year, with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov overseeing the work.
Safari and hunting tourism will also be developed on a 5,000-hectare steppe area in the Tuproqqala district. Along the Gazavat, Palvan, and Shavat canals, which run through Urgench, Khiva, Shavat, Kushkupir, and Khazarasp, 80 service and commercial-entertainment facilities worth a total of $50 million are planned. Tourist villages will also be established in the Bagat, Gurlan, Yangibazar, and Urgench districts.
Additionally, next to the Mamun Academy, a 2-hectare plot will host a themed garden called "Great Thinkers." It will present information interactively and in multiple foreign languages about outstanding scholars nurtured by the Khorezm region.
