It is planned to build a new residential quarter in Riyadh on the territory of New Tashkent. This was announced on October 15 by the chairman of the board of directors of Al Majdiah and First Avenue companies, Abdusal Al Majid, at a meeting of the President of Uzbekistan with Saudi companies.
According to him, the project will be implemented jointly with Uzbek entrepreneurs.
“We will justify your trust,” he said, addressing the President of Uzbekistan in a story on the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the symbolic significance of the project: “If we build the Riyadh quarter, it will also become a bridge for uniting two peoples,” said the head of state.
In September, three architectural concepts for the future St. Petersburg quarter were presented in New Tashkent. The final project combines images of the Northern capital of Russia and modern buildings. Construction is planned to begin in mid-2026.
Construction of the new city began in 2023. In August of this year, the first buildings were erected, and 19.7 thousand hectares of land were allocated for the implementation of plans in the Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik regions. The project concept was developed by the British company Cross Works.
At the first stage, work is carried out on an area of 6,000 hectares, where living conditions for 600 thousand people will be created. In the future, the city is designed for 2 million residents. Currently, underground utilities are being built - collectors for heat and water supply networks, power supply and telecommunications, as well as tunnels and underground parking lots.
