President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the multifunctional sports complex, being built at the intersection of Afrosiyob and Besyogoch streets.

Construction of the complex began in February 2017. The arena will work in three - ice, sports and concert modes. Modern conditions for hockey, figure skating, short track, curling, basketball, volleyball, futsal, kurash, boxing, fencing, taekwondo and other sports will be created here.

It will be possible to hold concerts, exhibitions and conferences. According to the plan, the complex will be commissioned in December 2018 on the eve of the New Year.

Uzbek President got acquainted with the progress of construction. He noted that this construction is of great social importance, it is necessary to make the complex function all year round.

He gave instructions to form sports teams on the basis of the complex, to organize an enterprise for the production of sportswear and equipment.
