The new Tashkent international airport will be built on the territory of the Urtachirchik and Kuyichirchik districts of the Tashkent region on an area of 1310 hectares. The story of the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel showed the proposed location of the new air harbor. To the south of the construction site are the settlements of Yangitash and Tinchlik, as well as the urban settlement of Yangikhayat - the site partially covers the Khalkobod mahalla.

The Chirchik River flows from the west, the railway passes from the east (stop point 22 km), and the villages of Tashlak, Yunuchkala and Ak-tam are located to the north.

The distance between the existing Islam Karimov International Airport and the new facility exceeds 15 km.

According to journalist Aziza Kurbanova, the project is being implemented on the basis of public-private partnership (PPP). The consortium included:

Vision Invest (Saudi Arabia) - 45%

Incheon International Airport Corporation (South Korea) - 15%
Uzbekistan Airports (Uzbekistan) - 10%

The project is being implemented in four stages. At the first stage, it is planned to invest $2.6 billion, of which: $1.8 billion will be spent on the construction of an air terminal, $800 million on the development of airfield infrastructure.

The new airport will be able to annually receive up to 20 million passengers and 129 thousand tons of cargo, perform up to 30 takeoff and landing operations per hour and simultaneously service 62 aircraft.

The area of the Duty Free zone is estimated at 46 thousand square meters. m. - almost like in the largest airports in the world: Istanbul - 50 thousand sq. m, London Heathrow - 48 thousand sq. m, Dubai - 40 thousand sq. m.

With reference to the words of the president, the journalist noted that when choosing the location, even weather conditions and the level of fog were taken into account - the territory with the least foggy and most stable weather was chosen.

Toll highways Tashkent - Samarkand, Tashkent - Andijan and Tashkent - Bostanlyk will be built to the new airport, as well as a high-speed train will be launched, and shuttle transport will be established between the centers of Tashkent and New Tashkent.

The new airport is estimated to generate more than $27 billion in revenue for the state.
