Uzbekistan carries out construction works for 16.55 trillion soums in Jan-May
The volume of completed construction works in Uzbekistan in January-May 2018 was 16.55 trillion soums, which grew by 11.5%.
The volume of construction work performed by major contractors amounted to 5.4 trillion soums, or 34.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share in the total volume of construction works reached 32.6%.
The volume of construction works carried out by small enterprises and microfirms amounted to 6.91 trillion soums, or 41.8% of the total volume of construction works. The growth rate made up 8.3%.
The share of the informal sector was 25.6%, or 4.23 trillion soums, which fell by 4.7% year-on-year.
The volume of completed construction works for January-May was 16.55 trillion soums. The growth rate to the corresponding period of the previous year made up 11.5%.
The volume of construction work performed by major contractors reached 5,4 trillion soums, or grew by 34.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The share in the total volume of construction works reached 32.6%.
The highest growth rates of construction work were observed in Navoi region and in Tashkent city.
In Navoi region, the high growth rate of 24.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was achieved through the construction of a mine for the extraction and processing of gold-bearing ores from the Auminso-Amantoy ore field (IGM-5) (I-II stages), reconstruction of the third line pumping station “Amudaryo-Zarafshon”.
Active construction of individual houses in Tashkent region has provided growth of 14.8% to the corresponding period last year.
Construction of the metro line, the bridge, the ring railway, reconstruction of the Tashkent Pedagogical Institute and the National Park ensured the growth rate of 11.7% in Tashkent.
The main part of construction works by types of economic activity was carried out due to the construction of residential buildings and non-residential premises. Their share in the total amount of construction work was 78.8% and, compared to the same period last year, increased by 1.6 percentage point.
The share in the volume of construction work for this type of economic activity, like the construction of civilian objects, was 10.3% and, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 0.1 percentage point.
The share of specialized construction works was 10.9% and, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 1.5 percentage point.
The share in the volume of construction works for this type of economic activity, such as construction of buildings and structures, carried out by large organizations, amounted to 31.7% and, compared to the same period last year, increased by 6.9 percentage point.
Accordingly, the share of small enterprises and microfirms was 36.5% (increased by 1.0 percentage point), the informal sector - 31.8% (increased by 5.8 percentage point).
Large contractor organizations carried out 47.0% of the total construction work by type of activity construction of civilian objects. Compared with the same period last year, this indicator increased by 6.2 percentage point.
The share of small enterprises and microfirms was 47.8 % (decreased by 5.3 percentage point), the informal sector - 5.2% (down 0.9 percentage point).
In the volume of specialized construction works, the share of large contract organizations decreased by 4.8 percentage points and amounted to 25.8%, small enterprises and microfirms accounted for 74.2% (an increase of 4.8 percentage point).
By construction of buildings and structures in the context of the territories, the highest indicator was registered in Navoi region 83.7%, and the lowest in Tashkent city 65.3%.
The construction of civil objects was the highest in Surkhandarya region - 25%, and the lowest in Andijan region - 6.1%.
According to the specialized construction works, the highest figure was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 23.7% of the total volume of construction works carried out in the region.
